Unit 1 Alert: Bargaining Update – June 3
9:28 AM - June 3, 2013
Our Unit 1 team – representing Professional Administrative,
Financial and Staff Services – spent 18 hours negotiating with
the state Friday and Sunday, and signed tentative agreements
addressing several of the priorities of Unit 1 members.
Our bargaining team signed a tentative agreement to create a new
Recruitment and Retention Committee with members from the state
and Unit 1 that will review ten Unit 1
classifications/classification series per year to determine if
compensation and benefits are adequate. The committee has the
authority to recommend equity adjustments in compensation to the
director of CalHR.
Our team signed a tentative agreement to strengthen the Joint
Labor/Management Committee looking at issues in the Disability
Determination Services Division (DDSD).
Our team also signed tentative agreements on numerous existing
contract provisions that extend gains achieved in bargaining in
previous years.
We are also encouraging all of our members to RSVP for the June 5
“I’m All In!” rally at the Capitol – an action that will tell
everyone that we are all in for Local 1000, all in for a fair
contract and all in for quality public services for
Californians.
In Solidarity,
Brenda Modkins
