Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Filipino American Labor Leader Larry Itliong

Post

Local 1000’s Asian-Pacific Islander Committee is sponsoring a new musical about the life and legacy of Larry Itliong, a revered labor leader whose work and commitment to justice informs our fight for working families even today. It’s a great show, and we’re offering a special 30% discount on tickets.

Larry The Musical is showing now through April 14 at the Brava Theater in San Francisco.

Larry The Musical follows the story of Larry Itliong and the Filipino-American farmworkers who started the 1965 Great Delano Grape Strike, one of the most significant social justice movements in history that led to the merging of the predominantly Filipino union, Agriculture Workers Organizing Committee, with the Mexican Association, National Farm Workers Association, to create the United Farm Workers in 1966.

Local 1000 members can use the promo code LARRY30 to get a discounted ticket. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.

We hope to see you there!
