Your vote is your voice! Politics matter to all of us

As state workers raising families in California, politics affect every aspect of our lives—including the rights, raises and benefits negotiated in our contract. Making politics work for you, your family, and your community begins with your participation.

It starts with electing candidates who share our values and who stand up for working families. It’s important that we support lawmakers who are committed to a living wage, to retirement security, and affordable health care.

We all have a stake in this election. Make your voice heard and be sure to vote.

Here’s what you can to do get involved:

Are you registered to vote? It’s easy! Click on https://registertovote.ca.gov

Not sure if you’re registered? Check your voter status at: https://voterstatus.sos.ca.gov

Did you know that you can vote by mail?

Any registered voter may vote using a vote-by-mail ballot instead of going to the polls on Election Day. County elections officials mail vote-by-mail ballots to all active registered voters.

Let’s encourage others to vote!

We are stronger together! Join a phone bank or a precinct walk to encourage our fellow Local 1000 members to vote for our endorsed candidates and ballot measures.

Your participation is key to electing leaders who will stand up and fight for our rights. Politics matters because politics shapes and protects our wages, benefits, working conditions and retirement.

You can call from home on Tuesdays or join your local group with food at your Local 1000 office on Thursdays!
