Your new contract makes your commute on public transit free, statewide
In Sacramento, we’re partnering with SacRT to make access easier.

If you’re one of the represented employees of SEIU Local 1000 who rely on public transit to get to work, your commute can now be free! All 96,000 of our represented employees who use the bus, the train, or vanpool to travel to and from work can receive full reimbursement up to the IRS-mandated limits. Know Your Rights: Holiday Leaves

Your SEIU Local 1000 Union contract contains hundreds of articles governing your hard-earned rights, including wages, benefits, and working conditions. This overview explains how our 96,000 represented state workers are entitled to 11 observed holidays and how you’re paid for those holidays, should you be required to work on one of those days.

Premium Holidays 

Employees who work any of these six holidays will be paid at 1.5 times their regular rate of pay, and will also earn up to 8 hours of holiday credit.

Butler was sworn into office by Vice President Kamala Harris, who is yet another national leader who made a difference in California first.

Job Steward training scheduled for our new contract

Just a month ago, our hard-won Tentative Agreement became law. Now, it’s the contract that will govern our wages, benefits, and working conditions for the next three years.

What’s next: implementation and enforcement, and we start with comprehensive training of the corps of hundreds of Local 1000 Job Stewards who are on the front line, making our contract rights a reality for the 96,000 members we represent.
