Local 1000 Prepares Next Steps for Contract Campaign
Wednesday July 19th at CalHR

The State will continue to hear our members voices as we fight for a contract that pays workers what they need. Building on the success of our last rally, our Sacramento DLCs, including DLC 764, 785, 787, 788, 789, and 794, are rallying again outside of CalHR Headquarters to tell them we won’t tolerate their lowball tactics anymore.

Local 1000 Worker Stands Up to False Workplace Charges

Aruna Abeygoonesekera, a 30-year union member, and active job steward, was working at the California Dept. of Public Health (CDPH), in Richmond, CA, when he called his union representative with an urgent issue. A dispute in his workplace over-scheduling continued to escalate to the point where he was facing bullying and harassment in his workplace.
