  • Duty statements and post orders: We made a firm stand to the state today that we want to maintain our duty statements and post orders. Post orders are essential to ensuring continuity of care as well as the basic knowledge base of a specific work area, but the state doesn’t want to commit to providing post orders. Impacted unit members supported our stand at the table by emailing their Chief Nurse Executives with our simple and firm message: “Protect our Posts”.
  • Other key issues we continue to negotiate on behalf of Unit 17 members include proper licensure for RN supervision and DDS vacation scheduling.

Our Unit 17 team signed agreements today on five existing contract provisions that preserve our previously hard-earned rights.

Unit 17 returns to the bargaining table next week.

Rally for Our Contract on June 8!

Local 1000 members from all over the state will rally at the State Capitol on June 8 to show the governor and the legislature that we’re fighting for a great contract. We’re uniting with one voice and one goal: a great contract that includes a pay raise, creates more professional development, improves working conditions and ensures healthy and safe workplaces.

The rally will be held on the west steps of that capitol starting at 11am and food will be provided. Join us to show the state that this is Our Union, Our Contract, Our Future!
