Our team reached tentative agreement with the state to preserve more than 20 existing contractual protections impacting our Unit 11 members. We also discussed some of the many economic and classification proposals that we put on the table.

However, state negotiators denied our proposals and were unwilling to entertain any proposals dealing with the multitude of classification issues that our Unit is experiencing, citing a future promise of the unfunded Civil Service Improvement project currently being implemented by the administration.

Our Unit 11 team was highly dissatisfied with the state’s position. The intensity of worksite solidarity must increase to support our team as we continue to fight for our priorities.

Rally for Our Contract on June 8!

Local 1000 members from all over the state will rally at the State Capitol on June 8 to show the Governor and the Legislature that we’re fighting for a great contract. We’re uniting with one voice and one goal: a great contract that includes a pay raise, creates more professional development, improves working conditions and ensures healthy and safe workplaces.

The rally will be held on the west steps of that capitol starting at 11 a.m. and food will be provided. For more information, visit www.seiu1000.org/rally, call 866.471.SEIU (7348) or check with your local union organizer. Join us to show the state that this is Our Union, Our Contract, Our Future
