On Thursday, September 20, over 80 Sacramento members and staff found a festive way to conduct some serious business – educate voters on the dangers of Proposition 32.

Unit 1 member organizer Dee Dee Munson and Unit 4 member organizer Lorraine Dewitt created a night of training, raffles, poster-making and all around good fun to get more members politically involved.

“The turnout tonight is impressive. Over the years I have come to admire the work that our members can accomplish when we come together like this,” said Munson. “The more people get involved, the closer we come to accomplishing our goal – defeating Prop. 32!”
November 6 is fast approaching, and members and staff are connecting with voters at an unprecedented rate. Over 1,500 phone banking and precinct walking shifts have been completed by members and staff. Volunteers have made over 100,000 calls and have knocked on over 3,500 doors.

Phone banks and precinct walking sites are organized in many locations including Local 1000 offices and several mobile phone banks at restaurants and homes.
