DDS Developmental Center Retention Stipend Agreement Overview
Highlights:
- Effective date: July 1, 2016
- Amount: Up to $6,000
- $250 is accrued for all employees that meet the criteria each full quarter during the fiscal year 2016/2017
- $500 is accrued for all employees that meet the criteria each full quarter effective July 1, 2017 until separation from DDS.
- Payout:
- There will be two payouts of the retention stipend:
- January 2018 or the first month following the 50% decrease in the June 29, 2016 census, whichever occurs first, the amount earned as of December 2017 will be paid.
- After January 2018, upon separation from DDS the amount accrued following December 2017 will be paid.
- There will be two payouts of the retention stipend:
- Criteria:
- Employees at Porterville Developmental must be subject to GTA closure to accrue the stipend.
- Employees will not receive the stipend if:
- They separate from DDS before the first payout, except in the case of layoff
- If they do not work a minimum of 11 days per month in
a given qualifying quarter.
- This excludes:
- Industrial Disability Leave starting on or after July 2016
- A bid vacation which caused an individual to work less than 11 days in a month during a quarter between July 2016 and December 2016
- This excludes:
- Terminated or AWOL separated from the Department
- Receive a sustained adverse action during the accrual
period – this shall apply to the month of the effective
date of the adverse action
- Exceptions:
- If an employee is reinstated after a termination or AWOL separation.
