2017 Leora Hill Scholarship – Applications Are Being Accepted

Post

The African-American Committee for SEIU Local 1000 is proud to present the 2017 Leora Hill Scholarship as a tribute to the memory of activist Leora Hill and her commitment to labor. If you or your child is enrolled in middle school, high school or college, please take advantage of this amazing opportunity!

Leora served the citizens of California for 23 years at the Board of Equalization. As a lifelong labor activist, Leora served as the President of Local 1000’s District Labor Council 723 and as the chair of the Committee on Political Education for Southern California. It is in honor of her union spirit and leadership that we offer a new generation of our union family support in attaining their educational goals.
