As a steward, you are the backbone of our union’s strength. To help you lead with even greater impact, we invite you to our upcoming Advanced Steward Training (AST). Each steward is required to attend at least two ASTs per year, and this session is a perfect opportunity to fulfill that requirement while gaining valuable skills.

- Why COPE Matters: Understanding the Committee on Political Engagement (COPE) helps stewards navigate the political landscape, advocate for policies that benefit our members, and strengthen our collective voice in the political arena.
- Date: Thursday, August 15, 2024
- Time: 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Materials: Handouts will be provided to those who register.

- Per the SEIU Local 1000 Policy File, each steward is required to attend at least two ASTs per year.
- The year begins Jan. 1 and ends Dec. 31. When it is a contract negotiating year, MOU training is required in addition to AST.
