Our Union’s Bargaining Unit 4 Statewide DMV JLMC (Joint Labor Management Committee) met on July 31, with DMV Labor Relations to address issues we experience across the state. We had an in-depth conversation with the State on the following topics:
- Safety and Security
- Attendance Reviews
- Training
- Upward Mobility
We advocated for an increase to PI hours. But the Department informed us it is not possible at this time due to budgetary restraints and the end of Real ID funding,
The Upward Mobility program will be accepting applications in October. More information is available on the DMV Driver.
The Department now has a better understanding of why we feel the current training program is inadequate. How would you rate the quality of your training? How can it improve? Let us know if you have had difficulty on the job due to limited training. Email [email protected]
“Training is not the same as refresher courses…Our new hires need basic DL and Reg keying training, and everyone learns differently…not everyone can learn by just watching a video. We need hands-on training and mentorship.”
~H. White, MVR
Our next JLMC will be in October.
