Getting Ready to Fight for Better Wages, Benefits, and Working Conditions
We’re excited to announce that our new bargaining team is ready to take action! After a recent meeting of the Statewide Bargaining Advisory Council (SBAC) in late July, over 60 dedicated Local 1000 members were elected to negotiate our next contract with the State in 2026.
The SBAC is a powerful force, consisting of more than 100 member-elected bargaining representatives from all over California. They meet regularly to develop strategies, address workplace issues, and prepare to tackle the challenges that affect us both at work and at home.
Our bargaining team is made up of nine Bargaining Unit Negotiating Committees (BUNCs), each representing one of the units within Local 1000. These elected members will be your voice at the negotiating table, ensuring that the concerns of all workers are addressed and fighting tirelessly for a contract that protects and enhances our hard-earned rights.
