We pride ourselves in being a member-led union. We use our voices to shape the future of SEIU Local 1000, and in a broader sense, we impact the lives of all working people.

I hope you’ll consider becoming a delegate to the SEIU International Convention next May, in Philadelphia, where representatives of SEIU locals from across the nation gather to advance the issues most important to working people: a living wage, safe and secure jobs, and equity and equality for all, on the job, at home, and in our communities.

Every four years, Local 1000 members elect more than 50 delegates to represent us at the convention. The nomination period is underway, and voting will occur Dec. 15, 2023 through Jan. 16, 2024.

It’s an opportunity to really step into your leadership and to extend your efforts to give our members, and all working families, the opportunity to have a good life, live in sustainable communities, and enjoy the fruits of social and economic justice.

Delegates bring forth the issues of their fellow workers and their Local at the SEIU International Convention and help to provide a diverse perspective on national and international worker affairs. In Philadelphia, our delegates will attend meetings, vote on resolutions, elect international officers, approve budgets, and help shape the future of the SEIU organization as a whole, including policies that impact the work of SEIU Local 1000.

I encourage you to learn more about becoming a SEIU International delegate here. You’ll find information about what’s expected of our delegates, eligibility requirements, and there’s an easy-to-use nomination form.

I see and hear that many of our leaders have a bold vision for the future of Local 1000 and for the labor movement. I look forward to seeing your names on the ballot!

In solidarity,
