Dear Bargaining Unit 1 Employees,
I’m writing to inform you about significant changes proposed by CalHR that will impact many of you in Bargaining Unit 1. The Generalist Classification Series Consolidation will potentially reclassify over 40 job classifications, including Staff Services Analyst (SSA) and Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA), affecting more than 23,000 employees. You can read the full reclassification notification here. Please note that these changes are still in the proposal stage and subject to change.
What We’re Doing to Represent You
SEIU Local 1000 is committed to ensuring your concerns are heard throughout this process. As part of the union’s meet and confer process, we are actively discussing these changes with the state, and there may still be adjustments made before anything is implemented. We have scheduled a meeting with CalHR on October 10th to begin discussing the impacts of this proposal and will keep you informed of any developments.
What Happens Next
After this meeting, we’ll send you an update on the outcome of the discussions. Following that, we’ll be hosting a virtual town hall where you’ll have the chance to ask questions and provide feedback about how these changes may affect you. The details for the town hall will be shared soon, and we encourage everyone to participate.
