It’s official — we now have a full-executed contract with the State after Governor Newsom signed the bill (SB148) that funds our compensation and benefits for the next three years.
Our bargaining cycle, which began early this year and included town halls, bargaining surveys, and more than four months of intense negotiations, has now come full circle.
“It’s a great contract that puts more money in our member’s pockets,” said Irene Green, Vice President for Bargaining. “We won this agreement, in large part, because of the support of our represented employees. All across the state we took action and stood together for a contract that respects us, protects us, and pays us.”
Local 1000 will now move to a comprehensive training and education program, starting with our Job Stewards, to ensure that our members understand the new provisions of our contract.
