Local 1000’s contract campaign is a member-driven process from start to finish. Our member-elected bargaining representatives negotiate over our wages, benefits and working conditions – and to protect the hard-earned rights we achieved in previous contract battles.
Our current contract expires June 30 of next year, and work is already underway to formulate bargaining strategies and plan and organize support in the workplace to support the negotiating process.

More than 150 member-elected District Bargaining Unit Representatives (DBURs) and Classification Bargaining Unit Representatives (CBURs) make up the Statewide Bargaining Advisory Committee (SBAC).
The next meeting of the SBAC is May 14 and 15, and you can watch the live streamed meeting online. Saturday’s SBAC general session is nominally scheduled from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., and can be seen on the SEIU Local 1000 Facebook Page, and at www.seiu1000.org. A recording of that meeting will be archived on our website.
Sunday, team members from each of the 10 bargaining units we represent will meet in unit breakouts—nominally scheduled from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Those proceedings can be seen live at www.seiu1000.org; they, too will be archived on the Local 1000 website.
