Over the past four weeks of negotiations, our bargaining team has presented our proposals on the themes of working conditions, health and safety, leaves and upward mobility. All of this has build to this week’s theme of compensation.
Unit 14’s bargaining team met with the state today to talk about unit-specific issues. We discussed existing classification reviews and made five tentative agreements to delete contract language that is no longer relevant.

We continued to press the state on printing work being done by non-Unit 14 employees at the Legislative Bill Room, requesting access to the worksite to observe operations.
And we continue to make the case on our earlier proposal concerning the lack of career path for the Printing Trades Specialist Trainee classification.
We made one new proposal today for skill pay. The proposal would create a differential for Digital Print Operator IIs who are assigned a lead position on the HP 10000.
Your Unit 14 bargaining team goes back to the table on May 18 when we will continue to work with the state to protect Unit 14 work, create upward mobility for all bargaining unit members and fairly compensate us for our skills and experience.
Support your bargaining team! A great contract happens when we show the state that our members are “all in.” Purple up, stand up, and send your photos to [email protected].
