SEIU Local 1000 is California's largest state employee union representing 95,000 workers in nine bargaining unitsWe are IT professionals, building custodians, office technicians, accountants, levee inspectors and printers. We process disability claims, renew drivers' licenses, make sure state taxes are collected properly and pay workers' compensation benefits. In the state prison system, we are health care professionals, teachers and record analysts, supervising cooks, office technicians and accountants.
