On behalf of Your SEIU Local 1000 LatinX Committee:

Please remember, as we enjoy our paid holiday in honor of activist Cesar Chavez, to put into action what Cesar Chavez demonstrated in his life - service to our community.

“We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community.”

Hispanic Heritage Month
Local 1000 Latin@ Committee building a bridge between past and future

Each year, we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, but for our Local 1000 Latin@ Committee, recognizing our rich Latino heritage is part of their mission statement as they work to build a bridge between the past and the future of our brothers and sisters.

“The historic achievements of Latino leaders past and present is a template for the work of our committee and reminds us that we have more work to do,” said Miguel Cordova, committee chair.

Regional Activity & Support Request Information/Form

The Latin@ Committee is looking for members across the state who are willing to organize events and activities on issues of interest to the Latin@ community. The goal is to create opportunities for our members to become active in Local 1000 through our focus on the Latin@ community. We are looking for activities that are not focused solely on sponsorship, but rather on engaging our members to serve active roles.
