Join Local 1000 President Yvonne R. Walker for a discussion about Proposition 32, The Special Exemptions Act
You're invited to participate in a live telephone town hall on Tuesday, September 25 at 6 p.m.
Local 1000 President Yvonne R. Walker and Lou Paulson, President of the California Professional Firefighters will engage members in a lively discussion about a dangerous and deceptive initiative that was written to allow unlimited political contributions from wealthy individuals and corporations while limiting the voices of state employees and other public service labor unions.
Lou Paulson also leads the Alliance for A Better California, a coalition leading the fight against Prop. 32. The coalition comprises dozens of organizations representing everyday people from across California - more than two million teachers, firefighters, police officers, nurses, school employees, and workers in the manufacturing, retail, construction, health care and other industries - every day Californians -- workers, parents, and community leaders who support adequate school funding, fair wages and benefits, workplace safety, smaller class size in our schools, better health care for children and senior citizens, and safe communities with sufficient police and fire protection.
